Whether to BYOB or Not to BYOB for your Event
The Table Catering offers our clients the option to bring their own alcohol to their gathering.
It may sound like a great idea to save on marked up drink prices for your upcoming large social event, but what may not always be considered is why the drinks are priced higher and what you may be saving by hiring a caterer to handle the bar drinks.
If you want to BYOB, consider the following in advance of the big day (For weddings, I recommend making the decision one to two months in advance. This is one of many decisions to make during the planning process):
Transport
Who will haul the drinks to my venue ahead of time?
Will my venue allow deliveries such as decor or drinks to be received ahead of time? What is the cost for that? Is that adequate dry and or cold storage?
What do I do with the leftovers beverages and who is responsible for this?
Do I have access to a cart for before and after hauling?
Ice
Does my venue have an ice machine?
Or does my family member volunteer have access to ice? And coolers?
Who
Will my volunteer team miss the ceremony and or part of the celebration as a result of helping with drinks and does that work for me and them?
How many bottles and cups will be purchased?
who is paying for it? Do I need to reimburse them?
What drinks do I want to offer, beer wine and a specialty cocktail?
Do I need to discuss any drink details with the bartender ahead of time?
When a caterer is able to provide a bar package, this comes with the caterer:
hauling your drinks
Providing ice
Access to carts
Handling any leftovers
Knowledge about how much to prepare and provide
Peace of mind
Less dependence on your family and volunteer network.
Consider which option is best for your guests, We are happy to adapt.
